  1. Distance walked towards west (OA) =6m
  2. Distance walked towards south (AB) =20m
  3. Distance walked towards East (BC) =12m
  4. Distance walked towards North (CD) =12m

 5. ED = CE - CD

 = 20 - 12

 = 8 \: m

 6. EO = EA - OA

 = 12 - 6

 = 6 \: m

 In \: \triangle OED ,

/* By Pythagoras Theorem */

 OD^{2} = DE^{2} + EO^{2}

 = 8^{2} + 6^{2}

 = 64 + 36

 = 100 \: -- (1)

 Now, \red{Distance \: from \: initial \: point \: to}

 \red{terminal \: point ( OD ) }= \sqrt{100}

 \green { = 10 \: m}
