I don't think it's true, I really don't think so.
If I talk about myself, I love to read stories!

I prefer reading Harry Potter novels more than its movies, it's just because, reading novels help to improve our language and reading has more benefits than listening to stories.

But, in case of small children, or even in some big people, they prefer listening stories just because they simply get bored by seeing those letters printed in books, or they just don't want to know the whole story as soon as possible.

Well, it all depends on what people feel more comfortable.

Hey there!

It is really true that Children love listening to stories not reading them. I have always heard that Grandma have read out stories for me or mom did. But I never heard about a child reading himself.

One such reason is Children has good imagination power rather than Understanding. When they read, The feel quite a lot of difficulty in understanding the story and they can't draw a electronical picture in their mind.

But if someone reads the stories for them, They have someone who can help them with queries and they imagine the story in reality .Also , As they are still developing study skills, it would be hard to read themselves.

Unfortunately, As Children grows ,Mental pressure increases, Physical changes in their body, and other things subject them to pressure, So their imagination is decreased as they move to teenage.


Teenagers would like spending time along. It's a behavior of a boy or girl in adolescence .So The first answerer Nikki told that she likes reading. Also Teenagers can understand the story by themselves.
