wave wreaked fatal havoc on the boat. It hit it with an explosion. Its force was so intense
that it threw the author many feet away from the boat. But the lifeline kept him safe. It
also capsized the boat; fortunately another wave put it erect again. Author's ribs
cracked; his mouth was filled with broken teeth and blood. The decks were smashed;
there was water, water in the boat. A huge hole in the starboard side let the water in in
torrents. The very keel of the boat was shaken with the blow of the wave. Sue, author's
daughter had received serious head injury. Their very survival was in danger.\
