Different strategies used by children -


There are different methods or strategies used by children to acquire mathematical knowledge in primary level.  



1) By Playing - Children learn the basics of mathematics in a playful manner . Children learn the Addition by counting number of trees , plants , and other things from the environment .


2) By Music - Children of primary classes learn the mathematical knowledge by music. Syllabus of Pre-primary classes include nursery rhymes , songs and stories. Children can learn and practice counting through reciting rhymes , poems , songs .


3) By Groups - Children learn the basics of mathematics such as Addition and Subtraction. For example - They learn Addition by counting number of chocolates . They learn Subtraction by giving some chocolates to another child. Children learn mathematical knowledge by forming groups of things and by separating them .
