Good morning to the Principal sir, teachers and my dear friends. We all are very glad and gathered here to celebrate children’s day. At this auspicious occasion, I would like to speech on the children’s day. Children become the happiness of the society and home as well as future of the country. We can not ignore their involvement and contribution in the life of parents, teachers and other related people all through the life. Children are liked by everyone and without children life become very boring and upset. They are blessed by the God and conquer our hearts with their beautiful eyes, innocent activities and smiles. Children’s Day is celebrated every year to pay tribute to all the children all over the world.
It is celebrated at different dates in various countries however in India, it is being celebrated for years on 14th of November. Actually 14th of November is the birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter and first prime minister of the independent India (Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru) however celebrated as the children’s day because of his great love and affection towards children. He was a political leader, however, spent his most of the precious moments with children and loved their innocence. Children’s Day celebration brings lots of fun and frolic activities. The celebration of this day reminds us to renew our commitment towards children’s welfare including their proper health, care, teaching, etc. Children were Chacha Nehru’s ideals and given lots of love and care by him. It is an occasion to appropriate the qualities of childhood.
Children are considered as the building blocks of the strong nation. Children are very small but have the capability to change the nation positively. They are the responsible citizens of the tomorrow. Children’s Day celebration also reminds us about their rights of which they are getting benefits or not. Children are leaders of tomorrow so they need to get respect, special care and protection from their parents, teachers and other members of the family. They are being abused in many ways in our nation by their family members, relatives, neighbours or other strangers. They should get proper care and love by the parents and family.
They should get healthy food, clean clothes and security.
They should get a healthy living environment where they can feel safe at home, school or another place.

Children are considered as the pillar of a nation. They form a bright nation with their power and capability. India, being a country with young population, relies a lot on children and youth for her future. Such a profound though came in our Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s mind in the earlier days itself. He underlined children as the root of a brilliant future.
Our Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, fondly called as “Chacha Nehru” and “Chachaji” by children, had deep love and affection on children. Nehru Ji started many educational institutions to create opportunities for children who really deserve to study for a better future. Wherever he goes, he sticks on to children in the crowd. As a mark of respect to the great inspirer Nehru, his birthday November 14 is observed as Children’s Day every year in our country.
Schools and educational institutions conduct programmes and competitions on Children’s Day. Children enjoy a lot since schools organize a lot of games for children on this day. In many schools, exclusive fun programmes are arranged to entertain children.

Young Children are considered to be the wealth of every nation. That is why , Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru said that the real wealth of any country is anyhow , safe in school not in banks. Children are the axis of a family , society and the nation.
Every year , Children's Day is celebrated all over the world in the memory of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It is a known fact that Nehru had a lot of immense love for children. He used to mix with children as if he was one amongst them. That's why all children used to call him " Chacha Nehru "
Nehru gave his birthday , 14th November as a gift to them to see a broad smile on their faces. He loved their innocence , honesty and kindness. All the schools all over the country , celebrate Children's Day by arranging different events like debates , dances , songs , plays , etc. Such types of programmes are carried out in many states also.
On this Children's Day , we should think about the welfare of children. The government should take strong actions to impart primary education to each and every student children. Firstly , child labour should be completely eradicated from the society. Teachers must be vigilant about the participation of the students in various competitions etc.
Children must be appreciated by giving prizes for their excellences in any of the fields so that they can become more and more confident and encouraged. There should be strong foundation on which the whole of education system can stand firmly, confidently with heads helf high .
Thus , On this day , we must get the cooperation from all citizens and celebrate this Children's Day.
