HELLO!

Alcohols are organic compounds that have -OH group as the main functional group. For example, ethanol (C₂H₅OH).

Acids are the organic compounds that have -COOH group as the main functional group. For example, acetic acid (CH₃COOH). They are weaker than mineral acids, and aromatic acids have stronger acidic character than aliphatic acids.

When an alcohol and an acid reacts in presence of concentrated sulphuric acid, an ester is produced, which is identified by its fruity smell.

Hope this is enough,

thanks!
