Chlorine atomic no. 17 is more electronegative than sulphur atomic no. 16. Explain?

Chlorine has more number of valence electrons because of which it's atomic size is too far and it's need more electronegativity to pull the electron in valence shell ...

Chlorine is in group 17 and Sulphur is in group 16 of the periodic table according to their electronic configurations and non metallic character increases across a period. Since Sulphur is placed before chlorine therefore chlorine is more electronegative.
