According to the given equation:

MnO 2 +4HCl→MnCl 2 +Cl 2 +2H 2 O

1 mole of MnO 2

  • reacts with 4 mole of HCl

or 87 g MnO 2

  • reacts with 146 g HCl
  • ∴ 5 g MnO 2

:: Will react with

87146 ×5gHCl

= 8.39 HCI
