Chlorine
The two isotopes of chlorine, of mass numbers
35 and 37 respectively, have the same atomic number
(17), i.e. the same number of protons and electrons.
However, they differ only with respect to the number
of neutrons contained in their respective nuclei. They
are represented as ci and 17C1. Isotope ici
has 35 - 17 = 18 neutrons, and isotope C1 has
37 - 17 = 20 neutrons
