Hello Dear,

According to your question,

Chloro Ethane Reacts with  Z  to form→  Di-Ethyl Ether

Your answer is here.

⇒  C₂H₅Cl   +     Z            →→  C₂H₅-O-C₂H₅  + ____

     C₂H₅Cl   + C₂H₅ONa   →→  C₂H₅-O-C₂H₅  + NaCl

  (Chloro-Ethane) + Sodium Ethoxide → Di-Ethyl Ether +Sodium Chloride

Observation-

When chloro ethane reacts with Sodium Ethoxide in the presence of Heat , Then Diethyl ether & sodium chloride has been formed.

I Anticipate it help you.

Have a Marvelous Day. :-)

Thanks for the question!

It is definitely a very interesting question to solve and do some brainstorming.

Chloro Ethane Reacts with  Z  to form→  Di-Ethyl Ether

     C₂H₅Cl   + C₂H₅ONa   →→  C₂H₅-O-C₂H₅  + NaCl

  (Chloro-Ethane) + Sodium Ethoxide → Di-Ethyl Ether +Sodium Chloride

so, Z is Sodium Ethoxide
