ASSALAMUALAIKUM

Chloroform contains chlorine, even then it doesn't give anyreaction with silver nitratesolution because it is a covalentcompound. If chlorine is present in the ionic form in anycompound, only then it can give reaction with AgNO solution togive precipitate of AgCl.

INSHAALLAH it will help you!
