Phaeophyceae:- This type of algae Chlorophyll a and c along with fucoxanthin are present. Fucoxanthin imparts brown colour to the algae . And are also known as ‘brown algae’.

Rhodophyceae:- These algae has chlorophyll a and d and phycoerythrin are present. It imparts red colour. And are also called ‘red algae’.
