YES,the role of chlorophyll in photosynthesis is NECESSARY . CHLOROPHYLL ,which resides in the chloroplasts of plants,is the green pigment that is necessary in order for plants to convert carbon dioxide and water,using sunlight,into oxygen and glucose.
