Basically anthoceros means flower horn.

It is a genus of hornworts and come from the family of anthocerotaceae.

About 200 species of anthoceros are well known. Some of its species are terrestial .

They like to grow in moist and shady places. It's thallus is bilobed.

Cell of each thallus contain a single large oval shaped chloroplast. Each chloroplast is covered with single large body which is called pyrenoid

REPRODUCTION IN ANTHOCEROS - it reproduce by vegetative and sexual method.
