• the primary reason for floods to occur is excessive rainfall. more than an area can withstand. due to these massive rains, the drainage systems get effected and we will require really good infrastructure to fix the issues in drainage.
• secondly, when it starts pouring heavily, the rivers get overflowed and the water starts pouring into the residential areas from the various water bodies resulting in disastrous effects for man, land and properties.
• lastly, dams may collapse when it rains cats and dogs, further aggravating the water problems with no built structure to regulate the flow of water.
