The city of Mumbai have more electoral constituencies than the deserts of Rajasthan as (i) Mumbai is densely populated and Rajasthan is sparsely populated.
- Each state is divided into territorial constituencies in such a manner that the ratio between the population of each constituency and number of seats alloted to it is same throughout the state.
- Constitution ensure that there is uniformity of representation in two respects (a) between different states, and (b) between the different constituencies in same state.
- Electoral constituencies are solely based on population and it has nothing to do with geographical features or good road network, etc.
Thus (a) Only i is correct is a correct option for above question.
