Myanmar is not a member of the SAARC nations. SAARC initially consisted of 7 members, but Afghanistan joined in 2007, and now there are 8 distinct members as part of the SAARC nations.

This organization works for the economic and the overall social and national betterment of the countries that are listed under it.

Both India and Pakistan have major number of population as part of the SAARC countries.
