SOLUTION :-

TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT OPTION

The equation of the line parallel to the y axis

a. x = - 2

b. x + y = 0

c. x = y

d. y = 2

CONCEPT TO BE IMPLEMENTED :-

The general equation of any line is

 \sf{ax + by = c} \:  \:  ......(1)

Now the equation of any line parallel to Equation (1) is given by

 \sf{ax + by = k}

Where k is a constant

EVALUATION :-

Here the given line is y axis

So the equation of the given line is x = 0

Therefore the equation of any line parallel to y axis is x = k

Since the line x = - 2 is of the form x = k

Hence the equation of the line parallel to the y axis

a. x = - 2
