Names of Vaccine used against Typhoid:

There are three different types of vaccines are available for the typhoid disease.

Ty21a –This is oral capsules and manufacturer is Vivotif (PaxVax) and permissible age to give this vaccine is 6 years and above.

Vi capsular polysaccharide vaccine (ViCPS)- This is intramuscular vaccine and the manufacturer is Typhim Vi (Sanofi Pasteur) Typherix (GlaxoSmithKline) and the permissible age to give this vaccine is 2 years and above.

Typhoid conjugate vaccine (TCV)-This is intramuscular vaccine and the manufacturer is Typbar-TCV (Bharat Biotech) and the permissible age to give this vaccine is 6 months and above.
