A) 1/6

B) 1/7

C) 1/5

In the above fractions the numerators are same but the denominators are not (unlike fractions) . For comparing which is largest and which is not, we have to make the unlike fractions to like fractions. So that we can compare the fractions by seeing their numerators as the denominators will be same.

PROCESS:

1/6, 1/7, 1/5- The denominators are different, we have to find a common denominator so we have to find the L.C.M of the denominators (here 6, 7 and 5). When the L.C.M is found of the denominators, we have to compare them. We have to multiply the numerator by which we have multiplied the denominator (here in 1/6, 6 was multiplied by 35 to get 210 so we have to multiply the numerator with 35 too. And same with all unlike fractions)

L.C.M of 6, 7 and 5 is 210.

1/6= 1*35/6*35= 35/210

1/7= 1*30/7*30= 30/210

1/5= 1*42/5*42= 42/210

= 35/210

  30/210

  42/210

From the above fractions, 30/210 is the smallest.

30/120= 1/7= 1/7 is the smallest.
