we know that if we draw perpendicular from the centre of the circle to chord it will bisect the chord show the each part of the cord is equal to 15 CM and the distance from the centre to a chord which is a perpendicular is of 8 cm so in this right angle triangle base is given and the height is given we have to find the hypotenuse that is radius. so by the Pythagoras Theorem h square is equal to b square + b square that means radius square is equal to height square + b square.so, r²=15²+8² so the r²=225+64=289. r= 17 which means radius is equal to 17 cm
