Chords AB and CD of a circle intersect inside the circle at point E. If AE=5.6,EB =10,CE=8, find ED.Choose the correct alternative.

Given conditions ⇒

AE = 5.6 
EB = 10
CE = 8 

Now, As per as the question, chord intersect internally.
We know that if the chord intersects internally then the products of the segments of the chords are equals. 

∴ AE × EB = CE × DE
⇒ 5.6 × 10 = 8 × DE
⇒ DE = 56/8
⇒ DE = 7


Hence, Option (a) is correct.
