... the batter hit the ball straight towards Chris. He barely had time to react because of how fast the ball was hit. He sprinted to his left and barely made it to the ball before it went flying by. With it in his glove, he set his feet and made the throw to first. As he watched the ball sail to the first baseman, he began to grow with anticipation. The ball was flying faster than the runner, but it looked like it was going to be a close shot. Right before the runner stepped onto the base, the ball hit the glove. A huge grin spread onto his face and he grew giddy with anticipation for the rest of the game. It was already going his way. To be continued...
