Answer:

Chromatin fibers are made from coiling of a long polynucleotide strand of DNA to fit into the cell. Chromatin is present as a diffuse network of fine filaments in the non dividing nucleus. At the time of cell division, chromatin material becomes condensed into rod-like structures called as chromosomes. Each chromosome has a centromere and two arms called as chromatids.

Chromatin, Chromatid and Chromosomes

Explanation:

  • Chromatin- are a complex of DNA and proteins that forms chromosomes in the nucleus of eukaryotic cell, under microscope chromatin looks like beads on a string, these beads are called nucleosomes. Each nucleosomes is composed of DNA wrapped around eight histone proteins.
  • Chromatid- it is one of the two identical half of replicated chromosomes, it has sister chromatids which are joined at the centromere.
  • Chromosomes- thread like structures located inside the nucleus , each chromosome is made up of proteins and DNA, each cell has 23 pairs of chromosomes in humans.
