➡Genes are the units of inheritance in living organisms.

➡It controls the transfer of heridatory characters from parents to offsprings(new born)

we say chromosomes are heriditary carries because we acquire some genes/chromosomes from our parents which specify our body structure and these genes/chromosomes are also transffered to our next generation.
