Answer:

Cinema has been a major source of entertainment for us from time the first Hindi cinema ‘Alam Ara’ rolled out in 1931. From then onwards we have seen major classics like ‘Mother India’ and ‘Mughal e Azam’. These movies have entertained us and also tell us about the socio-economic structure in those times. Mughal e Azam told us about Indian history.

Movies on lives of legendary figures like Gandhi, Bhagat Singh and Milkha Singh narrate our freedom struggle. They are inspirational to us youngsters. Films on extremists like Surya Sen tell us about the hard lives of the freedom fighters.

Movies are made for entertaining the mass. Popular Comedy tickle the audience but many filmmaker s try to send a social and moral message alongside. For example, a recent movie ‘ Oh my God’ made us laugh but told us how superstitious beliefs perpetrated by false godmen destroy the fabric of sociTh It educated people not to succumb to pressure of these godmen and waste precious resources on elaborate ceremonies and rituals. Movies are made to educate us on evils of society. Child marriage and widow remarriage is highlighted in films like ‘Balika Badhu’ and ‘Choker Bali’.

They try to bring about a change in the mindset of the society. Their are movies galore on police atrocities and various crimes affecting modern day society. A recent movie ‘Mardani’ highlighted sex trafficking. Many such true stories are made to forewarn society of evils penetrating our social system.

Thus cinema entertains us alongside educating society on various evils, narrating brave deeds of our heroes and heroines and above all it tries to bring about changes in society for the better.

Hope so this will help you:))
