To find:-

  • Metres of fencing required leaving 1 m from the edge.

Solution :-

Given,

A circular pond of diameter 4 m.

We know that,

  • Circumference = 2πr

Putting the values

→ Circumference = 2 × 3.14 × 4/2

→ Circumference = 4 × 3.14

→ Circumference = 12.56 m

Again,

→ Required fencing = 12.56 - 1

→ Required fencing = 11.56

Hence,

  • 11.56 metres are to be fenced around the circular pond.

Given :-

  • A circular pond of diameter 4 m.

We have to find:-

  • Metres of fencing required leaving 1 m from the edge.

  • It is clear that we won't fence in the pond but around the pound, which means we have to find the circumference of the circular pond.

  • Since we have to find the circumference of a circular region, So circumference of circle,

Required Solution:-

  • ⇒ Circumference = 2πr

  • ⇒ Circumference = 2 × 3.14 × 4/2

  • ⇒ Circumference = 4 × 3.14

  • ⇒ Circumference = 12.56 m

But, we have to exclude 1 m,

  • ⇒ Required fencing = 12.56 - 1

  • ⇒ Required fencing = 11.56

⚛ Hence,

⇒ 11.56 metres are to be fenced around the circular pond.

Some Information :-

  • Area of a circle = πr²

  • A tangent is a line passing through one point on the circumference and is perpendicular to the radius to that point.
