GIVEN :-

  • Circumference of garden is 176m.
  • A path of 7m is built inside and around it.

TO FIND :-

  • Area of path.

TO KNOW :-

★ Circumference of circle = 2πr

★ Area of circle = πr²

Here , r → radius of circle.

SOLUTION :-

→ Circumference (circular garden) = 2πR

→ 176 = 2 × (22/7) × R

→ 176 = (44/7) × R

→ R = 176 × (7/44)

R = 28m

Hence , radius of Outer Circular garden is 28m.

Radius of inner circle(r) = Outer radius - width of path

Radius of inner circle(r) = 28 - 7

Radius of inner circle(r) = 21m

R = 28m and r = 21m

______________

So , we have to find area of path.

From the diagram ,

→ Area of path = Area of Outer circle - Area of inner circle

→ Area of path = πR² - πr²

→ Area of path = π(R² - r²)

→ Area of path = π(28² - 21²)

→ Area of path = π(784 - 441)

→ Area of path = (22/7) × 343

Area of path = 1078m²

Hence , area of path is 1078m².

MORE FORMULAS :-

★ Area of square = side²

★ Area of rectangle = l × b

★ Area of parallelogram = l × h

★ Area of semi-circle = πr²/2

★ Perimeter of square = 4×sie

★ Perimeter of semi-circle = r(2+π)

★ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

★ Perimeter of parallelogram= 2(l+b)
