While studying in Cambridge, Stephen Hawking was focusing on developing of new mathematical concepts by Roger Panrose which is closely related to Einstein’s theory of general relativity. 

On the basis of these techniques Hawking proposed that the universe has emerged from a singularity.

This is an instance of his sharp wit and with this he had become one of the most famous scientists of all time.
