City A's population is 68000, decreasing at a rate of 80 people per year. City B having population 42000 is increasing at a rate of 120 people per year. In how many years both the cities will have same population?

Answer:

let the population be same after x years

the population of city A after x yrs =68000-80x

the population of city B after x yrs =42000+120x

according to question

=> 68000-80x= 42000+120x

=> 26000=200x

=> 200x =26000

=> x = 26000 /200

=> x= 130 years

In 130 years both the cities will have same population
