Importance of Civic Sense
If you ask me what India needs most, I'll say good citizens. I say it with all the emphasis at my command. As individuals, we are a wonderful community. We help the needy and the weak. However, when it comes to public property, we are just careless. Nay, we are callous. We throw the waste papers on the road. We eat groundnuts while walking on the road. The peels keep lying on the road. We are not used to throwing the rubbish in dustbins. Then think of the public toilets. It's a shame. We go there only if we cannot wait to find a better place. They stink so badly. We have several historical monuments. What do we do with them? Youngsters take great pleasure in writing on those walls.
We must learn to carry a bag in which to keep wrappers and other waste. Let us behave like responsible citizens.
