ya, it is also one of the reason for which war started in srilanka. Tamils demanded tamil ealem in North and east sri lanka. First, at starting all the demands of tamils were refused . Sri lankan universities showed preference for sinhale applicants. There was no consideration for their language and culture, no one respected it.None of the majority leader showed preference to tamils.First they demanded equality but all the demands were ignored . Then their demands changed into demanding tamil eelam.Thus civil war broke out.
