therefore Cl- has 17+1 = 18 electrons
as K shell can hold 2 electrons
L shell can hold 8 electrons
and M shell can hold 18 electrons
but M as last shell can only hold 8 electrons
Total no. of electrons K , L and M shells can hold is 18 electrons
Also Cl- has 18 electrons
from this we can say that
Cl- ion has completely filled K , L and M shells
