Cl is passed through dry litmus lime

please recheck the question ....I think so it must be *paper instead of *lime ....
when Cl gass is passed over dry blue litmus then it won't charge the color of the litmus.....if we take wet blue litmus then the litmus paper turns red because acids or bases release H+ or OH- ions only in their aq solution......
