The relative formula mass of Al2(SO4)3 is 342.3. The relative formula mass of an ionic compound is the ratio of the average mass of one formula unit of the ionic compound to the mass of 1/12 the mass of a carbon-12 atom. Thus, to obtain the formula mass of Al2(SO4)3, just add up the relative atomic masses of every atom in one formula unit.

Thus, the relative formula mass of Al2(SO4)3 = 2*27.0 + 3*(32.1+4*16) = 342.3.

Al2 = 28 X 2 = 56
(SO4)3 = (32+ 64)*3
= 96*3 = 288
mol mass of Al2(SO4)3 = 288 + 56= 344 g

mrsonu962: properly
chaya1557: understood thank u
mrsonu962: sure ???
chaya1557: ssss
mrsonu962: ok ... is ur exam is starting from tomorrow
chaya1557: no no
chaya1557: can u tell me the final answer of this
chaya1557: i got 0.14666 is it correct?
mrsonu962: ok let me see
mrsonu962: i got it 1/12 X 5 = 0.416 mole of Carbon
