Clara takes a certain amount of bread during lunch, but she always wastes half a bread. Sam takes half the number of breads as Clara, and always finishes his share. After 20 days, if the number of breads that were consumed during lunch by them together is 120 (excluding the breads wasted), then find the number of breads per meal that Clara and Sam take. How many breads were wasted in 20 days?

Let breads taken by Sam be x.

Then breads taken by Clara will be 2x as she takes double the bread as Sam.

Breads eaten by clara in 20 days = 2x - (0.5 × 20) = 2x - 10

Total number of breads eaten by clara and Sam =120

2x-10+x=120

2x+x = 120 + 10

3x = 130

x = 130 / 3

x = 43.33

Therefore Sam ate 43.33 breads in 20 days.

Number of breads eaten by clara = 2x - 10 = 2 × 43.33 - 10

=76.66

10 breads were wasted in 20 days.
