Answer:

1) Oxides of metals are either basic and acidic in nature .

Oxides of non metals are acidic or neutral.

2) Metals are electropositive in nature.

Non metals are electronegative in nature .

3) Metals replace hydrogen from dilute acids.

Non metals do not replace hydrogen from dilute acids.

4) Metals react with water and produce a metal hydroxide ot oxide and hydrogen gas.

Non metals do not reacts with water and steam to evolve hydrogen as they can't give electrons to hydrogen ions of water .

Answer:

1.Metals are electron donors..whereas non metals are electron receptors when the both combine to form an electrovalent compound

2.Metals are good conductors of electricity and heat whereas Non metals are generally not good conductors of electricity and heat

3.Metals are shiny and Lustrous whereas non metals are generally not

4.Metals on combination with with non metals form ionic or electrovalent compounds whereas Non metals on combination with non metals form covalent bonds.

5.Certain Metals possess properties such as Malleability and Ductility whereas non metals do not possess.
