CORRECT QUESTION :-

The sex of the child is determined by what they inherit from their father and not from their mother. justify.

_____________________

JUSTIFICATION :

  • Female gender have XY chromosomes.
  • Male gender have XX chromosomes.

If we combine the both chromosomes,

We will get,

For a baby girl :

The male sperm should be carried by a ‘X’ chromosome to combine with the female's ‘X’ chromosome.

•°• So the combination will be XX.

For a baby boy :

The male spem should be carried by ‘Y’ chromosome to combine with the female's ‘Y’ chromosome.

•°• So the combination will be XY.

_____________________

Now,

From the above two cases we have learnt, we can conclude that both the chromosomes in female are ‘X’. and they don't have ‘Y’ chromosome. We can say that Both the ‘X’ and ‘Y’ chromosomes are present in the male.

Here, It doesen't matter that which chromosomes are sent to the female body by the male but the gender of the body is inherited from the male.

Male have both ‘X’ and ‘Y’ chromosomes whereas female have only ‘X’ chromosome.

Answer:

CONCEPT:

MALE GENDER XY CHROMOSOME.

FEMALE GENDER XX CHROMOSOME.

FOR A BABY GIRL:

MALE SPERM CARRIED OUT BY X CHROMOSOME TO COMBINE WITH FEMALE X CHROMOSOME .

COMBINATE IS LIKE XX.

FOR A BABY BOY:

MALE SPERM CARRIED OUT BY Y CHROMOSOME TO COMBINE WITH FEMALE Y CHROMOSOME.

COMBINATION IS LIKE XY.

HENCE WE CAN CONCLUDE THAT SEX OF CHILD IS DETERMINED BY INHERIT OF FATHER NOT THE MOTHER, AS BECAUSE FEMALE ONLY HAVE X CHROMOSOME BUT MALE HAVE BOTH X AND Y CHROMOSOME.
