Pariksha guru reflects the inner and outer world of the moves emerging middle class. The characters in the novel emerging are caught in the difficulty of adapting to colonised society and at the same rooms of preserving theta own cultural identities. The world of colonial modernity seem to be the both frightening and irresistable to dpyil the characters. The novel tries to teach the readers the 'right way' to live and expect sensible men to be worldly wise and practical, to remain ruled in the values of there's tradition and cultures and to live with diginity and honour. The novel emphasis that traditional values the middle class house hold should not be sacrificed with all the good work intensions , Pariksha guru could not win many readers as it was parhaps too moralising in its style.
