The rowlatt act gave enormous power for repressing political activity and allowed detention of political prisoner without any trial for 2 years
shops were closed rallies we're organized rail workshop workers went on strike
Because of the rowlatt act general Dyer killed hundreds of people at jallianwala bagh
aftermath of this was crowd took over streets in many North Indian towns they attacked police and after that non cooperation movement started
hence they were outraged
