We know that,
if 3 consecutive no. r in AP then,
b-a=c-b.......
here also...
(2k^2+3k+6)-(4k+8)=(7k^2+4k+4)-2k^2+3k+6)
2k^2-k-2=5k^2+k-2
3k^2+2k=0
k (3k+2)=0
so,
k=0 and k=-2/3....
