There's nobody on the house-tops now---
Just a palsied few at the windows set:
For the best of the sight is all allow,
At the shambles" Gate...or, better yet
By the very scaffold's foot Itrow.

This stanza is a part of the poem ' The Patriot ' , written by none other than Robert Browning. just a year back patriot was welcomed to his town with Great celebrations and excitements, but today people want him to die. Nobody praises him anymore instead want him to hang to death. when he is taken to shambles gate, people threw stones at him.
