There was nothing difference between Amelia and Elizabeth. Both of them were selfish, greedy and jealous of each other. They don't felt sad about his father's death. Instead they were planning to wear their best mourning dress so that they can show each other.

Neither of them went to upstairs to check he is alright or not. Instead they plan themselves that he was death and start the division of his property.

Also both the sisters want to claim everything of his father. They don't want to distribute his money and property between. Also both the sisters don't love their father, their main aim was to derive maximum benefit from him; which we can see that how both the sisters felt happy after his death because now they can claim his everything without any difficulty.

Mrs Elizabeth Jordan :- A very clever woman. Like her sister, Mrs Amelia Slater, she too is very greedy and petty.
