Answer:

Height (h1) of each conical part = 2 cm

Height (h2) of cylindrical part = 12 − 2 × Height of conical part

= 12 − 2 ×2 = 8 cm

Radius (r) of cylindrical part = Radius of conical part = 3/2 cm

Volume of air present in the model = Volume of cylinder + 2 × Volume of

cone

Step-by-step explanation:

Height of cylinder h1 = 12 - 2 - 2

= 12 - 4 => 8

Volume of air contained in the solid = volume of cylinder + 2 × volume of cone

= π r² h1 + 2 × 1/3 π r² h2

= π r² [h1 + 2/3 × h2]

= 22/7 ×3/2 × 3/2 [8 + 2/3 × 2]

= 99/14 [8 + 4/3]

= 99/14 × 28/3

= 66 cm³
