Two quantities can not be added or subtracted if they have different dimensions be it a vector or a scalar quantity. But they can be multiplied or divided, or only multiplied in the case of vectors.

We cannot add two vectors representing physical quantities having different dimensions.
But we can multiply two vectors representing physical quantities having different dimensions.
For example-
Force = Mass.acceleration(Dot Product of two vectors of different dimensions )
Net Displacement is the addition or subtraction of displacements in a given time.
Always Remember that addition or subtraction is always done among quantities having same dimensions like you cannot add or subtract 1 Dyne and 1 kg or 1 Tesla and 1 Joule.
But multiplication and division can be done among quantities of different dimensions..like in case of force, Kinetic Energy, Poisson's ratio,etc.
So let it be the case of vectors or anything else, addition and subtraction is done among quantities of same dimensions and division and multiplication can be done among quantities of same or different dimensions.
