Answer:

(i)v=dx/dt

v=2bt

velocity at 2s:

v=2×2.5×2

v=10m/s

(ii) displacement at 2s:

Δx(2)=x(2)-x(0)

x(2)=18.5m and x(0)=8.5m

Therefore,

Δx(2)=18.5-8.5=10m

Similarly,

x(4)=48.5

Δx(4)=48.5-8.5=40

Δx=Δx(4)-Δx(2)

⇒40-10=30m

∴Average velocity=30/2=15m/s

Explanation:

  • For first part use the formula for instantaneous velocity ,i.e., dx/dt.
  • For second part use the formula of average velocity ,i.e., Total displacement/Total time.
