Explanation:

For small angular displacement, sinα ~ α, so that

F= -mg sinα

= -mg α

= -( mg/l)*y

= -ky => K = mg

l

(because y = lα), thus the time period of the simple pendulum is

T=2π√m/k

or T=2π√l/g

And

time period of SHM does not depend on amplitude.
