i = imsin(wt-pi/2)
p= vi
= Vmsinwt×imSIn(wt-pi/2)
=Vm im (sinwt) × (-coswt)
= Vm im sinwt coswt × 2/2
= Vm/√2 im/√2 2 sinwt coswt
= -Vrms irms sin2wt
the average power over one cycle
(P) = -Vrms irms (sin2wt)
(sin2wt) = 0
(p) = 0
