Class _12 Refraction.

When a ray of light changes medium ( i.e goes from denser- rarer or rarer - denser ) , we know that it's speed changes.

But what makes the light to bend ??
Why it deviates from it's path if only its speed has changed ??

Answer:

The light bends due to the process of refraction of light

It's deviation can be easily explained by the Snell's Law of its changing path.

It deviates from it's path by only change in it's speed because the density difference of the different medium exerts a force on that particle which makes it's deviation.
