My favourite book "The boy who wanted a dog "is about this. It is centred on Donald who loves animals and has always wanted a dog.Sadly his parents refused to buy one. The story goes on to tell how he fulfills his dream and becomes a veterinarian 's apprentice .Donald's joys knows no bounds but his parents don't quite approve office part time job saying it would affect his studies but when a robbery occurs it is up to Donald and prince, the alsatian to help the police. Finally his ultimate wish is fulfilled and his life changes for the better. Enid Blyton has written this book to highlight the importance of kindness to animals. My favourite character is the vet because he is gentle and kind to animals. I don't quite like .Mr. fairly, Donald's school teacher, because he is unkind and inconsiderate to Donald. Since I too a soft spot for animals. I enjoyed this book greatly. It has left a deep impression on me and I have vowed that I shall always try to help animals. I keep reading this book from time to time and I recommend it to anyone who likes adventure stories with messages.
